"The first Russian version of Guidelines for Mountain Protected Areas, 1992, Ed. Duncan Poore was published in Moscow in 1993, by the International Mountain Laboratory, Institute of geography, Russian Adademy of Science [Russian Editor was Yuri Badenkov, Translation by Olga Galtseva, 34 pp.]

This Russian version enjoyed great interest in Russian-speaking CIS countries and in Russia. Thanks to Natalya Danilina, who at that time was the Head of Protected Areas Department in Ministry of Nature and Resources Protection of the Russian Federation, it was distributed to all Mountain PAs (zapovedniks) in Russia. This publication was available with financial support of WCPA (Mountains). Now this booklet is a real rarity!
